We are given the frequency table;

Since the total number of adults surveyed is the sum of the entries in the frequency table,

The total number of adults is 500.

So, we can obtain the probability of any class X in the table by using the formula;


Pr(X)=\frac{\text{frequency of class X}}{\text{total number of adults}}

We can compute the probabilities of each class now;


\begin{gathered} Pr(0)=(60)/(500)=0.12 \\ Pr(1)=(175)/(500)=0.35 \\ Pr(2)=(155)/(500)=0.31 \\ Pr(3)=(85)/(500)=0.17 \\ Pr(4\text{ or more)=}(25)/(500)=0.05 \end{gathered}

With this data, we can now produce the probability distribution table;
