we have the function


g(x)=-(x+6)^2-2

This is a quadratic function (vertical parabola) written in vertex form

y=a(x-h)^2+k

where

(h,k) is the vertex

In this problem the vertex is the point (-6,-2)

Make a table

For x=-4

substitute the value of x in the function

g(-4)=-(-4+6)^2-2

g(-4)=-6

For x=-2

g(-2)=-(-2+6)^2-2

g(-2)=-18

For x=0

g(0)=-(0+6)^2-2

g(0)=-38

For x=2

g(2)=-(2+6)^2-2

g(2)=-66

Graph the function

Plot the points and join then to find the graph

(-6,-2)

(-4,-6)

(-2.-18)

(0,-38)

(2,-66)
