The vertex of the parabola is of the form,

(h,k)

The vertex given is,

(-2,-4)

The general equation of parabola is

(y-k)^2=4p(x-h)

Here, p is the distance between vertex and focus.

p=\sqrt[]{(-4-(-4))^2}+(-2-(-4)^{})^2
p=\sqrt[]{4}
p=2

Susbtitute the values,

(y+4)^2=8(x+2)

The correct option is C.
