What cell is like a little brain macrophage that crawls around and eats things up in the cns?

The only macrophage like population of cells in the central nervous system (CNS) is the microglia. Microglia are a type of neuroglia that is located in the brain and spinal cord and act as macrophages cells (phagocyte), being the main form of active immune defense in the CNS.
