Answer: The number is 1/3 or 0.33
Explanation:
Let the number be x
Sum of five times the number = 5x
Number subtracted from 10 = 10 - x
According to question,
5x + 8 = 10 - x
=> 6x = 2
=> x = 2/6 = 0.33
