8. The speed of light is 3.0 x 1010 cm/sec. Express this speed in mi/hr. (You have choices with the scientific notation: multiply scientific notation with the conversion rate, or change the scientific notation to the standard number—but count your zeros very carefully.)I do not understand this

3.0 X 1010 cm/sec = 3030 cm /sec

convert this to m/hr by multiplying the speed value by 36

* You can divide 3030 by 100 cm and multiply by 3600 sec or

* Multiply 3030 by 36 ..... you get the same value .

• Therefore, 3030 *36 = 109079,9 m/hr

,

• this is approximately 109080 m/hr
