The fungus can not do photosynthesis, because they are heterotroph organisms, most fungus feed by assimilating preformed organic matter, like the saprotrophic fungi (dead organisms), and they also can feed on living organisms (parasite fungus). Fungi can readily metabolize and absorb carbohydrates, proteins, and other molecules to get energy. They do not eat as animals or produce their own food as plants.
