When a physician tells a patient that she has diabetes, the patient's mother tells you that she

is confused because her daughter doesn't look sick. How would you explain this?

You can try to explain that diabetes doesn’t effect your appearance. So people have other side effects for example diabetes effect the blood vessel.

A child can still be ill even if they don’t look ill
Diabetes does not mess with a someone’s physical appearance but their blood sugar
