Since the side of the square till is x inches

Since it lengthed by 2 inches, then

The new side = x + 2

Since the area of the square = side x side, then

The area of the new till = (x + 2)(x + 2)

Let us multiply them

(x) x (x) = x^2

(x) x 2 = 2x

2 x (x) = 2x

2 x 2 = 4

(x+2)(x+2)=x^2+2x+2x+4

Add the like terms

(x+2)(x+2)=x^2+4x+4

The answer is x^2 + 4x + 4 ==== B
