2x + y + 6 = 3(x - 1) + 8

compare the equation with y = mx + c

2x + y + 6 = 3(x - 1) + 8

2x + y + 6 = 3x -3+ 8

2x + y + 6 = 3x + 5

y = 3x + 5 -2x - 6

y = 3x -2x + 5 -6

y = x -1

by comparing y = x -1 with y = mx + c

m= 1

Hence, the slope of the line is 1
