If a mattress store advertises a 20% all products for President’s Day, calculate the cost of a mattress which normally costs $379.99, using multiplication by a single factor. Round to the nearest cent.

Okay, here we have this:

Considering that all products have a 20% of descount, we obtain the following:

Cost of the mattress=Normal Cost*(100%-20%)

Cost of the mattress=Normal Cost*(80%)

Cost of the mattress=Normal Cost*(0.8)

Cost of the mattress=379.99*(0.8)

Cost of the mattress≈303.99

Finally we obtain that the new cost of the mattress is $303.99.
