Formula of the surface area (SA) of a sphere:

SA=4\pi r^2

where r represents the radius of a sphere.

The problem is telling us that our radius is 7yd, then, replacing this value in the formula we get:

SA=4\pi\cdot(7)^2

Simplifying:

SA=4\pi\cdot49
SA=196\pi

Answer: 196π yd²
