The number of domestic dog varieties on Earth today, produced through artificial selection, is an example of natural selection, (more accurately artificial selection), as there was diffeential reproduction between indivuduals with certain characteristics, even though, the traits that caused this were chosen by humans and not because they carried out adaptative benefits to the dogs.
