For example, the slope of the line between the points (2,6) and (4.9) is:mTara started a hike at an elevation of 1200 meters and after ascending at a constant rate for 4 hours, she was at anelevation of 1700 meters.This can be represented with the points (0, 1200) and (4, 1700).What is the slope of the line through these points? Express your answer as an integer.I

Step 1: Write out the formular

\begin{gathered} \text{Slope(m)}=\text{ }\frac{Change\text{ in y}}{\text{Change in x}}=\text{ }(y_2-y_1)/(x_2-x_1) \\ \text{where x= number of hours spent} \\ y=\text{ value in metres} \end{gathered}

Step 2: Write out the given datas and substituting the values

\begin{gathered} m=(y_2-y_1)/(x_2-x_1) \\ \text{where y}_2=\text{ 1700metres} \\ y_1=\text{ 1200metres} \\ x_2=\text{ 4hours} \\ x_1=\text{ 0 hour} \\ So\text{ therefore,} \\ m=\text{ }\frac{(1700-1200)\text{metres}}{(4-0)\text{hour}} \\ m=\text{ }\frac{500metres}{4\text{hours}} \\ m=\text{ 125metres/hour} \end{gathered}

Hence, the slope of the line (m)= 125metres/hour.
