We will solve it by substitution method, which we are doing next.

Solution by substitution

By substituting (2) in (1) We get the following solution for x, once we have 'x' we then solve for 'y'.


\begin{gathered} x-2=2x+6 \\ \therefore\rightarrow \\ x=-8 \\ \therefore\rightarrow \\ y=(-8)-2=-10 \\ \therefore\rightarrow \\ (x,y)=(-8,-10) \end{gathered}
