Explain what is meant by “dimorphic” and how this term applies to pathogenic fungi.

Dimorphism is the occurence of the existence of two forms, in the case of sexual dimorphism the existence of two distinct types of a individual. The dimorphism among fungi is the capacity to convert between two specific morphological forms, like hyphae and yeast, the Ascomycota phylum have dimorphic organism. The dimorphism in fungi can happen depending of environmental condictions or situations, like an yeast in cold temperatures turning into mold.
