I think that they should definitely consider many different solutions, weighing and comparing the pros and cons, including those of isolationist policies. The United States should not be considering isolationist policies during a pandemic. Isolationism would lead to more death and suffering, both in the United States and around the world. Pandemics are best fought by working together, and isolationism would prevent the United States from being able to effectively fight the disease.
