The cell wall is a structure only found in plants. It surrounds the cell and it provides protection, as well as gives it its structure and helps with filtering what goes in and out.

Answer:

According to my search:

Step-by-step explanation:

The cell wall surrounds the plasma membrane of plant cells and provides tensile strength and protection against mechanical and osmotic stress. It also allows cells to develop turgor pressure, which is the pressure of the cell contents against the cell wall.

Generally:

  • It protects the cell and prevents any physical damage.
  • It provides structure to the cell. It prevents osmotic bursting.
  • It protects the protoplasm against mechanical injury.
