Well, one plant looks healthy and green while the other looks older and dying. I would infer that the one on the left has been watered and given the proper amount of sunlight. While the one on the right has been left out in the sun without much water at all. Some causes for this is location, as well as rainfall, nutrients in the soil and the environment itself.
