12 • 2x =72
-12 -12

2x=60
2x/2 = 60/2

X=30

Since we found x=30, we plug it back into the width (2x) and get 2(30), which is 60. Then, we just add all the sides, which is 12 + 12 + 60 +60.

The perimeter is 144.
