According to the factor theorem, if "a" is any real integer and "f(x)" is a polynomial of degree n larger than or equal to 1, then (x - a) is a factor of f(x) if f(a) = 0. In other words, if f(a) = 0, we can state that (x - a) is a factor of f(x).
