Explanation:

4(2z+3)=12?=

We use the distributive property to distribute the 4 into the 2.

8z=3=12?=

8 + 3 is 12 so the z has no part to play in this.

z=0

You could also have divided from both sides of the equation, but doing it this way is easier for me.
