First you want to find the area of the entire rectangle by multiplying the 2 sides.

20cm x 6cm = 120

Then you want to find the area of the other two shapes (in this case the square and triangle). Also use the other sides to find the lengths of the triangle.

Square = 3 x 3 = 9

triangle = 6 x 3 = 18 / 2 = 9

So then all you have to do is subtract the squares and triangles area from the total rectangle.

120 - (9 + 9)

120 - 18

102 cm2
