Both amensalism and parasitism​ are relationships found in the animal kingdom. Amensalism is a relationship where one animal is helped and the other is not affected. For example, barnacles and a whale; the barnacles have a safe place to live and food while the whale is not affected. Parasitism is when one animal benefits while the other is hurt and or killed. Leeches and humans have a parasitical relationship; the leeches eat the blood of the host, which hurts the host but helps the leech.
