C- onomatopoeia “tick tock” it is describing the sound of the clock & the pronunciation of that word is that sound.
an onomatopoeia is when a word describes a sound & literally mimics the sound of that object or action it is referring to

Why does the first sentence turn out to be ironic? In the living room the voice-clock sang, "Tick-tock, seven o'clock, time to get up, time to get up, seven o'clock!" as if it were afraid that nobody would.
