What are some other ways Americans could have helped their country

during World War II? How about now?

Answer:

They could pay war bonds, which lended money to the US ogvernment to be used for war efforts. Once a person bought a war bond, they were garunteed to be paid back with an interest. Today, we do not have a war to assist in, but there new ways American citizens can help out with their government. For example, they can participate in American Red Cross, where people can donate blood or volunteer to work for American Red Cross.
