Nate has $50 to spend at the grocery store. He fills his shopping cart with items totaling $46. At checkout he will have to pay 6% sales tax on all items in the cart. does he have enough money to buy everything in his cart? Explain

You multiply .06 times 46 then add it to 46 and see what the total is. If it’s more than 50 he won’t have enough

Sales tax =0.06 so if you’re adding that to 46 then you have to do 46x1.06 which gives you the answer to how much Nate spends in total. Then you should be able to answer the question.
