1 . - he freed the slaves, he tried to reconstruct the south before he was assassinated, he reunited the North and South.
2- the obstacles he faced were political leaders and so many people were opposed to ending slavery, that the civil war broke out, which is a huge obstacle. He dealt with them through speeches and trying to negotiate with the South.
