The equation which represents the puthagorean theorem is : 5² + 12² = 13²

The pythagorean theorem states that :

  • a² = b² + c²
  • a = hypotenus; b = opposite; c = Adjacent

In the diagram ;

a² = 169

b² = 144

c² = 25

Now we have

169 = 144 + 25

Take the square root

13² = 12² + 5²

A model of the Pythagorean Theorem is shown. 169 square units. 144 square units. 25 square-example-1
