Hello!

Let's take this problem step-by-step:

What information are we given:

--> perimeter: 216 ft

--> length is 50ft longer then the width

Now:

2(Length) + 2(Width) = Perimeter

->also: length = width + 50

2(Width + 50) + 2(Width) = Perimeter

2*Width + 100 + 2*Width = 216

4* Width + 100 = 216

4*Width = 116

Width = 29

Length = Width + 50

= 29 + 50 = 79

Thus the length is 79 and width is 50

Answer:

  • Length: 79 ft
  • Width: 29 ft
