Answer:

Pressure on surface by four paws: 1.5 * 10^5 Pa

Explanation:

Given:

Weight of Dog = 300 N

We're familiar that Weight = Thrust on the surface = 300 N

Hence Thrust = 300 N

Each paw's surface area = 5 cm² = 5 *1/100*1/100 m²

Of course, a dog has four paws which has a surface area of 4*(5 *1/100*1/100) m²

  • 20 *1/100 * 1/100 = S.A. of four paws.

We have to calculate the pressure on the surface when the dog is standing on 4 paws.

We know, Pressure = Thrust/Area

P = T/A mathematically.

P = 300 N/ 20 * 10^-4 m²

  • P = 300 * 10^4/ 20 N/m²
  • P = 15 * 10^4 N/m²
  • P = 1.5 * 10^5 Pa
