ecuations:

x + y = 30 (equation 1)

y - x = 6 (equation 2)

To solve this system of equations we can use the substitution or elimination method. Let's use the substitution method.

From equation 2 we can rewrite it as x = y - 6.

Substituting this expression into equation 1 we have:

(y - 6) + y = 30

2y - 6 = 30

2y = 30 + 6

2y = 36

y = 36 / 2

y = 18

so now substituting the value of y back into equation 1 we have:

x + 18 = 30

x = 30 - 18

x = 12

So the numerator (x) is 12 and the denominator (y) is 18.

Therefore the fraction is 12/18 which simplifies to 2/3.
