mu - 2*sigma = 38-2*5.2 = 27.6

mu + 2*sigma = 38+2*5.2 = 48.4

Step-by-step explanation

According to the Empirical Rule, about 95% of the normally distributed data is within 2 standard deviations of the mean. We subtract 2sigma from the mean mu to get the lower bound.
