X=6 degrees
Y= 140 degrees

Set 6x+4=9x-14 because of the corresponding angles theorem
18=3x
Divide both sides
X=6

To find the angle
Plug x in for 6 into both equation,
6(6)+4=40.
9(6)-14=40
which would equal 40 degrees, both equations should be the same value because they are corresponding angles.

Using the linear pair postulate 180-40=y
A line is equal to 180, and the angle cutting the line is 40 degrees, that why we subtract.
Y=140 degrees
