Answer:

x = 8, y = 10.

Explanation:

Because of the parallel lines:

150 + (5x - y) = 180

130 + (5x + y) = 180

Adding these 2 equations eliminates y:

280 + 10x = 360

10x = 80

x = 8

Now plug x = 8 into the first equation

150 +5(8) - y = 180

y = 150 + 40 - 180

y = 10.
