I will assume that I am in 2d.

My distance is 5 metres because the distance I travelled is 2+3=5 metres.

My displacement is -1 metre because from the original point, I went right (meaning straight) and then 3 metres left meaning I went back to my original point and went 1 m additional back of my original point.

You moved 2 meters to the right and then 3 meters to the left. What is your displacement and distance?
