function.

2. Gene Editing:
Gene editing techniques, such as CRISPR-Cas9, can be used to modify or correct specific mutations in a person's DNA. This involves targeting and cutting the DNA at the site of the mutation and allowing the cell's natural repair mechanisms to fix the DNA sequence. Gene editing has the potential to correct genetic mutations that cause diseases like sickle cell anemia or Huntington's disease.

3. Gene Addition Therapy:
In some cases, instead of replacing or editing a faulty gene, gene addition therapy involves introducing a new gene into the cells to supplement the function of the defective gene. For instance, in patients with certain types of inherited blindness, a healthy copy of the gene responsible for producing a light-sensitive protein can be added to the retinal cells to restore vision.

4. Stem Cell Gene Therapy:
Stem cell gene therapy involves using stem cells, which have the ability to differentiate into different cell types, as a vehicle for delivering therapeutic genes.
Stem cells can be genetically modified outside the body and then transplanted back into the patient to produce healthy cells. This approach holds potential for treating disorders like hemophilia or certain types of cancers.

5. RNA Interference (RNAi):
RNA interference is a gene therapy approach that aims to regulate gene expression by using small RNA molecules to silence or reduce the expression of specific genes. This technique can be used to target disease-causing genes or suppress the production of harmful proteins.
