A car travels 80 km/hr and a plane travels 16 000 m/min. How far will the car travel when the plane travels 800 km? ​

Explanation:

First you have to figure out how many kilometers an hour the plane travels to match the units of the problem. There is 1000m in a kilometer so the plan is traveling 16 kilometers a minute. That is not per hour though. There are 60 minutes in an hour so the plane flies at 960 miles per hour.

So, plane travels at 960km/hr

Car travels at 80km hour.

So for every 12 kilometers the plan travels the car is able to travel 1 kilometer because the plane is just that much faster. 960/80 = 12. So if the plane travels 800 miles the car will only be able to travel 1/12 of that distance. Then divide the distance the plane traveled (800km) by 12 to get the distance the car traveled. The answer is around 66.7km The original answer is 66.66666666 and so on so I rounded to 66.7.
