Solution :

We know that,


  • T = 2\pi (L)/(g) \\

where

  • T = Period
  • L = Length
  • g = acceleration due to gravity

Plugging in the values we have,


  • 2.24 = (2 * 3.14) (L)/(9.8) \\

  • L = (2.24 * 9.8)/(6.28) \\

  • L = (21.952)/(6.28) \\

  • L = 3.50m

Therefore, the length of the pendulum with the period of 2.24 seconds would be 3.50 metres.
