Explanation:

Ok so first we need to find the missing width of figure NPQR and we can do that by dividing the area by the length to solve for height. so 294/21 is 14 so the missing side of NPQR is 14. With me so far? now since these figures are similar lets find out how similar. so 21/12= 1.75 so JKLM increased in dilation by 1.75 to get to NPQR. So now that we found the missing side from NPQR we can divide that by 1.75 to find the missing side of JKLM now. So 14/1.75= 8. So 8 is the missing side of JKLM. Now all we have to do is multiply. So 8*12= 96 or 96in.^2
