Explanation:

It's easier (in my opinion) to format it like so:

(x + y) (x - y + z)

now, we'll distribute the x and y in the first parenthesis to the x, y, and z in the second parenthesis. do them individually first

(
x^(2) - yx + zx) + (yx -
y^(2) + zy)

now, combine any like terms


x^(2) + zx -
y^(2) + zy
