Johnny Cash strongly believed that there was no separation between church and state within America. He believed that the Christian God blessed America. During the duration of his time with family, they’d sing gospel songs together under the hot sun. In many of his songs his appraisal to America is more about the hard work done by the people. People like his family and roots. He was originally a poor farm boy, before becoming a famous artist. While much of his views are religious, he also stands with the people and civil rights of America.
