Bacteria are friends and foes to mankind because while they are known to negatively affect humans, they also can support the immune system and prevent the growth of what can potentially kill us.

Why are bacteria friends?

Bacteria are our friends in a sense. Different kinds can prevent harmful bacteria and aid our internal development and proper functionality. A good bacterium helps with nutrient absorption, adds flavor to our foods, and even stands alongside scientists in innovating medicines.

Why are bacteria foes?

While bacteria can help carry out many everyday tasks, they also influence negative factors such as disease, product spoilage, and infections. If improperly or not at all treated, bacteria can infest our materials and cause sickness most importantly.

Bacteria exist in a way that can serve as a benefit and detriment to mankind. With its presence, we either can contract an illness or develop ways to mend illnesses. The dual nature of bacteria highlights the significance of its roles in managing positive features while deviating the negative side.
