In the late 19th and early 20th century, Franz Ferdinand was the archduke of Austria-Hungary at the time (Now Austria and Hungary are separate countries in Europe). He was born into royalty, but it certainly didn't go well for him.

In 1914, at his time being the archduke of the country, a Bosnia-Serbian Nationalist had shot Ferdinand and his wife as the were travelling Serbia, and he died in Serbia (Present day Bosnia and Herzegovina) when doctors failed to save him.
