It costs $80 to be a member of a music club. A member of the club pays $5 per music lesson. A nonmember pays $15 per music lesson. How many music lessons must a member and nonmember take so the cost for each is the same.

Answer:

x = the number of lessons searched

member :

he pays $80 to be a member and $5 per lesson = 5x+80

non-member pays $15 per lesson = 15x

over write the equation to answer:

5x+80=15x

on result:

5x-15x=-80

-10x=-80

10x=80

x= 8

for 8 lessons the member and the non-member pay the same amount
