Answer: 54.1667 meters

Explanation:

Speed = Distance/Time

We are trying to find distance, so lets manipulate the formula to solve for distance:

Distance = Speed * Time

Lets fill it in:

distance = 65km/h * 3s

(before we multiply we must have all units the same, notice how the speed is in kilometers per hour and the time is in seconds? Me must make them the same unit of time.

3 seconds is the same thing as 3/3600 (1/1200) of an hour.'

so 65*1/1200 = 65/1200 -> 13/240 kilometers

The question asks in meters, not kilometers, so lets convert:

13/240 kilometers = 54.1667 meters

Explanation:

65 000 m / hr * 1 hr / 3600 sec = 18 m/s ( rounded to nearest m)
