x² – y² = 15 ------------ eq(2)

⇒ (x + y)(x - y) = 15 (∵ (a + b)(a - b) = a² - b²)

⇒ (x + y)(3) = 15

⇒ x + y = 15/3

x + y = 5 ------------ eq(3)

eq(1) + eq(3) :

(x - y) + (x + y) = 3 + 5

⇒ 2x = 8

⇒ x = 8/2

x = 4

x - y = 3

⇒ 4 - y = 3

⇒ y = 4 - 3

y = 1

x³ - y³ = (x - y)(x² + xy + y²)

= (3) (4² + (4)(1) + 1²)

= 3(16 + 4 + 1)

= 3(21)

= 63
