Hello!

area triangle = (b*h)/2

h = height

so:

12 = (b*h)/2

12 = (6*h)/2

12*2 = (6*h)/2*2

24 = 6h

h = 24/6

h = 4

The height = 4 cm

  • Answer:

\Large{\boxed{\sf height = 4cm }}

\\

  • Step-by-step explanation:

The area of a triangle is given by the following formula:

\sf A_(triangle) = (1)/(2) * b * h

Where:

  • A is the area of the triangle.
  • b is its base.
  • h is its height.

\\

\Large{\sf Given \text{:} \begin{cases} \sf A_(triangle) &=\sf 12cm^2 \\ \sf b &=\sf 6cm \\ \end{cases} }

\\

We will make h the subject of the formula.

\sf A_(triangle) = (1)/(2) * b * h

\\

First, multiply both sides by 2.

\sf 2 * A_(triangle) = 2 * (1)/(2) * b * h \\ \\ \Longleftrightarrow \sf 2 * A = b * h

\\

Then, divide both sides by b:

\sf (2 * A_(triangle))/(b) = (b * h)/(b) \\ \\ \Longleftrightarrow \sf (2 * A_(triangle))/(b) = h

\\

Finally, substitute our values into the formula:

\sf h = (2(12))/(6) = (24)/(6) \\ \\ \boxed{\boxed{\sf h = 4 cm}}
