John's sister is 56 years old.

"How?"

Age of John = 35

John sister's = X

35 = x/2 + 7 = ( x + 14/2 ) years.

x + 14/2 = 35

x + 14 = 35 × 2

x+ 14 = 70

x = 70 - 14

x = 56 years.

I apologize if this is incorrect. Hope you have a good day and good luck! :)

Answer: John's sister is 56 years old.

Explain

Let’s represent the age of John's sister with the variable "x". According to the problem, John is 7 years older than half of his sister’s age, so this can be written as:

35 = x/2 + 7

We can first subtract 7 from both sides to isolate the expression for x/2:

28 = x/2

Then multiply both sides by 2 to isolate the value of x:

x = 56

John's sister is 56 years old.
