The solution(s) of a quadratic are the point(s) where the function outputs 0. In other words, a solution to a quadratic is where it touches the x-axis.

Using a TI-84 calculator, we can find the solution to any function using the zero command.

To access this command:

  1. press 2nd
  2. press trace (because its 2nd function is calc)
  3. press 2 (because zero is calculate command 2)
  4. select a left bound (a line that is to the left of the solution)
  5. select a right bound (a line that is to the right of the solution)
  6. press enter
